About the Role
This is a temporary fixed-term contract position lasting between 3 and 6 months, with a possibility of extension depending on business needs. As an Assistant Store Manager at Samsonite, you will support the Store Manager in driving operational excellence, team performance, and customer satisfaction. You will lead by example, foster a positive and inclusive work environment, and ensure Samsonite standards are consistently met. Your role involves guiding the team to achieve sales targets, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining a well-organized, visually appealing store.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Applying the Smiles selling standards and maximizing every customer opportunity using up-to-date product knowledge and company resources.
- Building customer loyalty by providing outstanding service beyond expectations.
- Monitoring store performance, understanding budgets, targets, and KPIs, and reporting relevant information.
- Assisting in stock management, pricing accuracy, minimizing losses, and coordinating stock movement with the central retail team.
- Supporting recruitment, training, coaching, motivating, and retaining staff, as well as scheduling efficiently within payroll budgets.
- Ensuring compliance with company operational policies including cash handling, opening/closing procedures, and maintaining store cleanliness.
- Maintaining visual merchandising and window displays to Samsonite’s global standards.
- Staying informed about promotions and marketing campaigns and helping to launch them on time.
- Communicating clearly and courteously, sharing market trends and recommendations with the Store Manager.
- Acting as an ambassador for the company and its brands.
You will report directly to the Store Manager and play a vital role in the store’s success through your leadership, adaptability, and collaborative spirit.
Experience
Previous retail experience is preferred, ideally within a supervisory role. Experience working under pressure and a sales-oriented mindset are important.
About you
Passion for travel and brand sensibility. Flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs. Ability to stand, bend, lift up to 15kg, and use ladders. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Qualifications
Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
