About the Role
Are you an experienced Building Surveyor looking for a role where every day is different? Join Peabody's Repairs Team and play a key part in delivering high-quality property services across a diverse housing stock, including general needs homes, supported and sheltered schemes, and leasehold blocks. You will work within the Operations Directorate, specifically Repairs Operations, which is central to delivering safe, well-maintained homes and ensuring residents receive a responsive, high-quality service.
Your responsibilities will include carrying out technical surveys, pre- and post-inspections, and managing cases from start to finish. You will oversee specialist works, ensuring jobs are coded correctly using Schedule of Rates (SOR) and deliver value for money. You will assess quotes, challenge over-coding, and ensure cost-effective solutions. Managing a patch within the Northwest region, you will engage with residents through monthly surgeries (4–6 per month) and provide clear communication to residents and stakeholders, including responses to executive queries and Ombudsman cases. You will work closely with contractors to ensure works are completed to standard, on time, and within budget.
Repairs Operations is critical to Peabody’s mission of protecting homes, improving living standards, and driving efficiency across the property portfolio. By managing voids and repairs effectively, you will help create sustainable communities and deliver on the promise to get things right the first time.
Peabody is guided by values including Be Kind, Do the Right Thing, Love New Ideas, Celebrate Diversity, Keep Our Promises, and Pull Together. The organisation is committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels supported, included, and empowered.
Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, a flexible benefits package including healthcare, dental, and lifestyle discounts, 4x life assurance, ongoing training and development including qualifications and apprenticeships, two additional paid volunteering days each year, and up to 10% matched pension contribution.
