As Business Development Manager (Maternity Cover), you will manage and oversee all business development and customer management aspects across the business, preparing and negotiating bids and project contracts with a strong understanding of the UK&I construction market. You will be a key strategic contributor to the UK&I Business Development strategy, enhancing Ferrovial Construction’s market position and presence to achieve financial and reputational growth. Your role includes identifying and implementing strategic objectives, targeting and negotiating business opportunities, and leading contract award processes including compliance with contractual, commercial, and regulatory requirements.

You will provide detailed market analysis reports that add commercial and customer excellence focus, drive Ferrovial’s presence in the market, and collaborate closely with internal teams and external advisors to prepare bids and tenders. This role requires leadership in client interactions, joint ventures, consortium formation, and maintaining strong relationships with government, trade, and private sector networks.

Requirements

Experience
- Tertiary degree in civil engineering or similar.
- Post-graduate qualifications in Construction, Business, or related disciplines are desirable.
- Relevant experience in business development, bidding, commercial management, project delivery, pre-construction, or client management within construction or major infrastructure projects.
- Experience preparing expressions of interest, proposals, frameworks, or tenders.
- Proven track record negotiating and closing business deals within the UK&I market.
- Customer-centric approach to developing and sustaining commercial and industry relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple stakeholders.
- Experience leading business negotiations with government agencies, joint venture teams, and investors.
- Ability to educate and enhance the organisation’s commercial and client management capabilities.
- Skilled in managing reputational credibility and mitigating brand risk.
