About the Role
As CCTV Operations Manager, you will manage and provide a professional, proactive, customer-focused service within a fast-paced, technology-driven 24/7 CCTV Operations Centre. The role requires flexibility to work outside normal office hours on an agreed basis to meet operational, professional, and legislative needs. The Operations Centre oversees borough-wide CCTV monitoring and surveillance, alarm monitoring and management, remote door access, key holding, and provision of body worn cameras and radios. You will lead the service to consistently meet client and Council requirements, manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and coordinate liaison with the Metropolitan Police Service and National Crime Agency to support ongoing and planned operations. You will also lead the development of strategies, conduct borough-wide annual DPIAs for SCC certification, manage data and RIPA requests, and drive continuous professional and technical development to enhance the service.
Experience
- Experience in public space CCTV to undertake the strategic role of Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Waltham Forest as a relevant authority
- Experience of budget, resource, and contract management
- Experience working closely with other agencies, stakeholders, and partners, including Police teams with confidentiality and security requirements
- Experience securing investment and resources for large CCTV and operational centre management projects in a multi-functional service area

You will be a proactive leader with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work flexibly to meet operational needs. You will have a thorough understanding of CCTV operations, data management, and compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. You will be confident advising on new technology developments and able to manage complex contracts and partnerships effectively.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent standard
- Hold an appropriate qualification to operate public space surveillance cameras
- Security Industry Authority (SIA) registration
- Ability to carry out borough-wide annual DPIAs to maintain Biometric Surveillance Camera Commissioner’s certification and compliance with independent inspection processes
