About the Role
House of Louie is a unique four-storey townhouse in the heart of the West End, housing two distinct restaurants and a late-night bar under one roof. Home to Louie, offering French and New Orleans-inspired cuisine, and Wani Tzuki, a Japanese restaurant specialising in sushi and Japanese dishes, House of Louie provides a vibrant and dynamic hospitality experience from day through to late night. We are seeking a passionate and talented Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. Working closely with the Head Chef and senior kitchen staff, you will take responsibility for your section, delivering high-quality dishes while maintaining excellent standards of preparation, presentation, hygiene, and consistency. This role is ideal for an experienced chef who takes pride in their craft, enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen, and is eager to develop their skills within a diverse and exciting culinary operation.
Key responsibilities include managing the day-to-day running of your section to ensure smooth and efficient service, preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard, and ensuring all ingredients and mise en place are prepared in line with service requirements. You will follow recipes, preparation methods, and portion controls accurately, maintain excellent standards of food quality, freshness, flavour, and presentation, and ensure all food is handled, stored, and prepared in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations. Maintaining a clean, organised, and well-stocked workstation, monitoring stock levels, supporting stock rotation, and minimising food waste are also essential duties. You will work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to deliver seamless service, support and guide junior kitchen members when required, contribute to menu development and the introduction of new dishes, and maintain a calm, organised, and professional approach during busy services.
What We Offer
Competitive pay based on experience, staff meals and uniform provided, employee discounts, a fully refurbished kitchen and restaurant, the opportunity to work within the unique House of Louie townhouse, and the chance to be part of a diverse hospitality operation spanning two restaurants and a late-night bar. We also provide opportunities to develop your skills and progress your career within a supportive and collaborative kitchen environment that values high standards of hospitality, innovation, and excellence.
Experience
Previous experience working as a Chef de Partie or in a similar kitchen role is essential. Strong cooking skills and a good understanding of kitchen operations are required.
About you
You have a passion for food, quality ingredients, and delivering consistently high standards. You possess good knife skills and attention to detail, a strong understanding of food hygiene, safety, and correct food handling. You are able to manage your section effectively and work independently. Excellent organisation and time management skills are important, along with a positive attitude and willingness to support and develop other team members. You are reliable, hardworking, collaborative, and able to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen. A genuine interest in learning, developing, and contributing to a creative kitchen environment is essential.
Qualifications
No specific formal qualifications are stated as mandatory, but relevant culinary qualifications or certifications in food hygiene would be advantageous.
