We are seeking candidates interested in building a career in research within one of London’s largest oncology and haematology research teams. This Clinical Research Practitioner I role is based in the Head & Neuro-oncology team at Guy's Hospital.

Following a comprehensive induction, you will lead the coordination of an agreed portfolio of clinical trials, assist in trial setup, identify and discuss trials with patients, collect and report data, and support patients and carers throughout treatment. The role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to improving patient choices, care, and outcomes.

The post holder will act as a patient and participant advocate, coordinate research clinics, organise study-related care, and implement strategies to recruit and enrol research participants. Responsibilities include leading a portfolio of research studies, performing clinical assessments, ensuring adherence to study protocols and regulations, managing case report forms and site files, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to quality assurance processes.

Experience
- Experience working in a relevant research setting
- Experience working independently and within multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in a patient/participant facing role with clinical duties
- Experience with interventional studies or complex/large-scale observational studies

Desirable Experience
- Experience with electronic case report forms and computer packages
- Experience supervising others
- Experience working on clinical trials involving drugs, therapies, or interventions

Qualifications
- Degree in life sciences or related field or equivalent theoretical knowledge
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification

- Relevant clinical area courses

Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Up-to-date knowledge relevant to clinical research and good clinical practice
- Excellent organisational skills to coordinate clinics and participant visits
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory observations
- Competence in venepuncture and processing biological samples according to protocols
- Ability to conduct ECGs
- Proficient IT skills including database management, Microsoft Office, Excel, and electronic records
