We are seeking a Cyber Security Operations Analyst to join our highly motivated and dedicated Cyber Security Operations team. This role supports the cyber security posture of one of the UK’s largest NHS trusts across multiple sites, playing a critical role in protecting patient data and enabling safe, modern patient care. The team manages a complex environment covering network, infrastructure, endpoint, database, application, and data security controls.

The successful candidate will support the delivery and continuous improvement of GSTT cyber security operations, including patching, security configuration, identity and access controls, backups, and secure data handling. Responsibilities include monitoring and responding to cyber threats, incidents, and CareCERT alerts; coordinating security testing, vulnerability remediation, and cyber resilience activities; supporting supplier security, investigations, audits, and DSPT compliance; analysing complex security issues and recommending appropriate actions; producing security reports and KPIs for senior stakeholders; and delivering cyber security awareness, guidance, and mentoring across the Trust.

This role requires the ability to act on initiative, make clear analytical judgements, and manage multiple work streams simultaneously. The post holder will build strong working relationships across the Trust and communicate security preparedness and cyber risk to senior management and key stakeholders. Out of hours support may be required in response to significant security incidents.

The Directorate works closely with partners including South East London Integrated Care System, King’s Health Partners, King’s College Hospital, King’s College London, and Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust. The Directorate operates as a lean, agile organisation delivering the Trust’s digital ambitions, including a significant investment in a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to transform technology and data use across services.

Experience
- In-depth experience providing IT security operations services within the NHS or a comparable 24/7 service environment
- Significant experience with patch management processes and procedures
- Significant experience with protective monitoring and incident management

- Ability to act on own initiative and make clear analytical judgements
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple work streams simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills to explain security preparedness and cyber risk to senior management and stakeholders
- Willingness to support out of hours activity when required

Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related discipline
- Evidence of continuing professional development such as CISSP or CISM
- Desirable: Experience in project management or involvement in projects using PRINCE2 methodology
