About the Role
An exciting fixed-term opportunity (9 months maternity cover) has arisen for an experienced and motivated individual to join Medical Education at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust as a Service Manager (Medical Education). This senior operational leadership role carries Trust-wide responsibility for postgraduate medical education quality, governance, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with senior medical education leads, clinical leaders, and NHS England to lead the delivery of high-quality postgraduate medical education services, ensuring compliance with General Medical Council (GMC) and NHS England standards while driving continuous quality improvement across the Trust.

The role is primarily based at the Royal Brompton Hospital and requires a daily on-site presence, with occasional travel to other Trust hospitals. You will provide leadership to the Medical Education team, manage Medical Education Centres, oversee governance, performance, and operational delivery, and collaborate with clinical, academic, and corporate colleagues to support resident doctors and education programmes across the Trust. Additionally, you will provide local operational assistance to undergraduate medical education at the Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals.

Experience
- Demonstrable capacity and capability for operational/management in Medical Education within an acute hospital environment or similarly complex organisation, including staff management, financial management, and change management.
- Experience of leading operational delivery of postgraduate medical education services, educational governance, and quality improvement.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in setting up new programmes and/or services in large organisations (desirable).
