About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and operational Senior Social Care Manager to step into a newly created post leading the implementation of a major service redesign within the Integrated Mental Health Service (IMHS) in Hackney. This high-impact leadership role offers the opportunity to influence service delivery and shape innovative models of care in a vibrant, diverse London borough committed to social justice and anti-racist practice.
As Deputy Head of Service – Mental Health, you will provide operational leadership to embed the new IMHS structure, ensuring high-quality, legally compliant decision-making. You will drive strong partnership working between social care and health colleagues in partnership with East London Foundation Trust (ELFT). Balancing operational delivery with strategic thinking, you will lead service redesign in the context of financial challenges and champion a culture of continuous improvement and a strengths-based, anti-racist approach.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing the effectiveness of service pathways such as Initial Response, Longer-term Support, and the AMHP Service. Experience
- Proven senior management experience in social care, particularly within integrated health and social care environments.
- Strong foundation in social care practice with experience in operational and strategic leadership.
- In-depth knowledge of key legislation including the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act.
- Demonstrated ability to lead service redesign and embed anti-racist, strengths-based approaches.
