About the Role
Newham Children's Social Care is undergoing a transformation focused on putting people at the heart of everything we do and creating opportunities for all. As a Direct Payments Officer reporting to the Service Manager in the SEND Social Work team, you will provide high quality clerical and financial administrative support. Your responsibilities will include making contact with customers receiving direct payments, reconciling individual accounts, identifying risks related to payments offered to service users, and maintaining accurate records on Carefirst, the financial system used to track direct payments. Your work will directly contribute to improving the quality of life for children and young people with disabilities, supporting vital social work services during an exciting period of improvement and growth.

Experience
Previous experience in a financial administration or complex clerical support role is essential. You should be highly numerate and confident working with numbers, as well as comfortable learning and using new systems.

You will have strong organisational and data analysis skills to effectively manage Direct Payments and support service users. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners are required.
