About the Role
Join L&Q’s Disrepair Surveying Team and use your technical expertise to make a meaningful difference to residents’ homes and lives. Reporting to the Senior Disrepair Surveyor, you will manage a varied caseload of complex disrepair and complaint cases, combining strong surveying judgement with clear communication, accurate reporting and a resident-focused approach to resolution.

Your work will directly impact the quality, safety and condition of residents’ homes across a diverse portfolio including new builds, converted street properties, high-rise homes, flats and purpose-built blocks. Travel across a large geographic area is essential, so a full driving licence and access to a car are required to work flexibly across sites.

You will collaborate closely with in-house teams, external legal partners, contractors and other stakeholders to resolve cases fairly, efficiently and professionally. Your surveying reports and specifications must be thorough, evidence-based and compliant with building standards and legal requirements such as the Housing Conditions Protocol and the Fitness for Human Habitation Act.

This role offers a varied and rewarding experience balancing technical surveying, project management, case ownership, budget awareness and stakeholder engagement in a fast-paced environment. Organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while keeping residents’ needs central are essential.

We seek a self-motivated professional who can build trust, influence outcomes and bring people together to find practical solutions. Effective communication with residents, legal representatives, local authorities, contractors and colleagues is key, alongside using digital systems to track case progress and ensure timely resolution.

This is an opportunity to do work that truly matters, supporting residents through complex repair issues and contributing to L&Q’s commitment to safe, secure homes that residents can be proud of.

If you combine strong technical surveying skills with excellent customer service, empathy and an inclusive approach to problem solving, we encourage you to apply.
