Location
London Borough of Newham, primarily based in L&Q's South region covering Thames, South East and South areas. Travel across London, Essex, Kent, Slough, Reading and Middlesex is required. A full driving licence and access to a car are essential.

Full Time - 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

Salary
£60,000 to £70,000 per annum dependant on experience

About the Role
Join L&Q’s Disrepair team as a Senior Disrepair Surveyor, reporting to the Disrepair Manager. You will lead a team managing complex disrepair and complaint cases across a varied housing stock, directly impacting residents and the quality of their homes. This role involves managing circa 7 employees, overseeing team performance and productivity against KPIs, ensuring compliance with policy, procedure and best practice, and supporting continuous professional development. You will keep the team updated on legal changes and legislation, provide monthly reporting on cases and KPIs to senior management, and maintain a clear overview of outstanding cases and workload.

You will also monitor the budget within your area, reviewing job coding, budget allocation and ensuring spend complies with L&Q’s compliance processes. L&Q’s portfolio includes new builds, converted street properties, high rise flats and purpose-built blocks. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of various build types and experience surveying diverse stock.

The role requires close collaboration with in-house and external legal teams to resolve cases. Surveyors produce thorough reports and specifications in line with Building Standards and legal requirements, including knowledge of contract legislation such as The Housing Conditions Protocol and the Fitness for Human Habitation Act.

Experience
- Managing a high performing team
- Surveying role experience, ideally within Social Housing or Local Authority environment
