About the Role
Join Enfield’s Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT) as one of two experienced Education Child Protection Practitioners. This newly formed team is child-centred, compassionate, evidence-informed and closely aligned with Family Help, Child in Care and Care Leavers Services to ensure families experience a seamless safeguarding response rather than fragmented intervention.

The Education Child Protection Practitioners will be based within MACPT, working alongside multi-agency partners including health, police and children’s social care. You will ensure education safeguarding responsibilities are fulfilled in line with statutory guidance including Working Together to Safeguard Children (March 2026), Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2025), and the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026.

This is a high-impact role at the interface of education and statutory safeguarding. You will provide authoritative education input to child protection decision-making, strengthen partnership working between education settings and partner agencies, and help ensure the right response at the right time for children at risk of significant harm.

Accountable to the MACPT Service Managers and Head of Safeguarding and Quality Assurance, and line managed by the Assistant Headteacher of the Enfield Virtual School, you will provide consultation, advice and guidance to education providers and partners when a child comes to the attention of MACPT. You will liaise with senior education leaders and Designated Safeguarding Leads to ensure statutory duties are met and that the protective factors education provides are recognised.

The role promotes effective partnership working through timely information sharing, appropriate professional challenge and active engagement in child protection processes.

This is a great opportunity to join an excellent service that works collaboratively with families to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people. The leadership culture is grounded in openness, learning and shared responsibility, with a strong commitment to staff wellbeing, professional development and best practice. You will receive high-quality support from experienced managers and have opportunities to contribute to service developments.

Enfield’s Centre of Excellence supports new and existing staff to deliver excellent practice and achieve good outcomes for vulnerable children and young people. The service values professional curiosity, collective accountability and innovation, creating the conditions for everyone to do their best work.
