About the Role
An exciting substantive opportunity has arisen to join Adult Social Care as an Operational Support Officer. The Operational Support teams provide essential support across a variety of services including Adult Safeguarding, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, and Older People/Physical Disabilities. You will play a key role in processing complex referrals from multiple access points, ensuring accurate data communication to relevant services and supporting the safeguarding of vulnerable adults.
Your responsibilities will include maintaining data quality for statutory returns and accurate reporting, providing finance-related support to ensure timely payments and contributions, taking minutes for statutory meetings involving complex cases, and coordinating boards and panels. The information you handle may be highly sensitive and sometimes distressing, so prior experience in adult social care settings is beneficial.
As a Support Officer, you will input data across various ASC services using multiple systems to a high standard. Excellent written English, initiative, and open communication with the team are essential. You will need strong numeracy skills and confidence working with figures to calculate social care funding costs. You will oversee electronic referral routes, flag urgent issues, and liaise with colleagues to meet statutory and local deadlines while remaining flexible to service demands.
The Operational Support teams operate across multiple sites in the borough, offering opportunities to support and learn from different teams as service needs arise. You will join an established team and receive comprehensive training.
If you can meet challenging deadlines, deliver high-quality business administration, develop excellent working relationships, have an eye for detail, and a passion for adult social care, this role offers a rewarding career path.
