About the Role
An exciting opportunity for a professional events manager with strong commercial business acumen to join the high-profile Mansion House events team. This role involves organising events for external bodies including Government departments, charitable and commercial organisations. You will be part of the City of London Corporation, the governing body of the Square Mile – the world’s leading finance centre, committed to supporting a flourishing society, a thriving economy and shaping outstanding environments.

The Mansion House Events team manages a busy annual programme ranging from high-profile commercial events and large charity fundraisers to major keynote addresses and seminars. You will support the delivery of events that meet strategic Corporation objectives and promote messages through the Mayoralty and Shrievalty.

The role focuses on maximising the commercial use of the venue while safeguarding the reputation of the City, the Mayoralty and Shrievalty, and supporting departmental and organisational aims. You will proactively manage venue utilisation, liaise with clients, and work closely with external event suppliers.

Key responsibilities include supporting the delivery and review of the Commercial Events strategy, managing enquiries and bookings, developing supplier relationships, researching operational improvements, managing revenue and venue data, leading promotion and marketing activities, and deputising for the Senior Manager as required.

This is a full-time, fixed term contract for 6 months with a hybrid workplace attendance model.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience managing a venue and organising corporate or commercial events. Sales and marketing experience is desirable.

About you
Highly organised with excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong team player with good interpersonal skills and computer literacy. Knowledge of new technology and market trends is a significant advantage. Ability to represent the events team at external meetings and communicate effectively at all levels is essential.

Qualifications
