About the Role
As a Food, Health & Safety Manager at Baxterstorey, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety across our locations. You will deliver and oversee onboarding training for new starters, ensuring a strong foundation in safety and food hygiene, and manage ongoing refresher training and compliance. You will lead preparations for internal and external audits, conduct regular walkarounds and spot checks, and champion a strong safety culture by coaching and mentoring managers, chefs, and team members.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring and managing safety documentation, supporting allergen management, conducting risk assessments and investigations into incidents, and coordinating emergency preparedness. You will also lead the implementation of a new digital safety management system and provide training and support to ensure consistent use.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will attend operational and client meetings, provide clear reporting and guidance, and work closely with the wider Food, Health & Safety team to embed company standards and continuous improvement across locations.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience in food safety, health & safety management, or a related field is highly desirable.
Experience influencing, training, and supporting teams to achieve high safety standards.

About you
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
A passion for food and customer service.
Ability to keep up to date with relevant legislation, company policies, and procedures.
Motivated, proactive, and able to foster a strong safety culture across diverse teams.

Qualifications
NEBOSH Certificate and Level 4 Food Safety (or willingness to work towards these).
BSc or MSc in Environmental Health is desirable but not essential.
