About the Role
Are you a dynamic and experienced leader passionate about improving outcomes for children and families? Tower Hamlets is seeking a visionary Group Manager to lead our Children with Disabilities Service within the Children and Culture Directorate.
As Group Manager, you will oversee borough-wide integrated services, working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality social care. You’ll lead strategic initiatives, manage complex statutory cases, and drive improvements aligned with our Children’s Social Care Improvement Plan.
Key responsibilities include leading and managing assessment teams with effective supervision and performance management, championing workforce development and staff retention, developing quality assurance frameworks, building strong partnerships across education, health, police, probation, and voluntary sectors, promoting diversity, equity and inclusion, and managing budgets while contributing to service redesign and crisis management planning.

Experience
Qualified and experienced social work manager with a minimum of 5 years post-qualifying experience in statutory Children’s Social Care as a front-line manager.
Proven leadership in managing teams and delivering high-impact services.
Strong understanding of legislation, safeguarding, and best practice frameworks.
Experience working in multicultural environments and with disadvantaged communities.
