About the Role
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Lead Engineer to take ownership of a key client site, delivering high-quality hard Facilities Management (FM) services within a prestigious environment. This is a senior, site-lead role ideal for an experienced engineer ready to step up. While this position sits at supervisor level, there is no direct line management responsibility. Instead, the focus is on managing the site from a technical and stakeholder perspective, acting as the senior engineering presence.
As Lead Engineer, you will be the primary point of contact on site, ensuring service delivery excellence while building strong relationships with key stakeholders across both JLL and Aviva. You will bring a strong technical background, confidence in decision-making, and a highly professional, client-facing approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the senior engineering lead on site, ensuring high standards across all hard FM services
- Manage day-to-day Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) maintenance activities, including planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining excellent working relationships
- Liaise effectively with senior stakeholders across JLL and Aviva, providing updates and solutions
- Oversee and coordinate subcontractors and service partners, including review and approval of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Prepare and manage quotes for additional works (up to £5,000) and escalate where required
- Provide site-specific technical recommendations aligned with SFG20 standards
- Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and Wates Operating Framework
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to reporting where required
- Support delivery of additional M&E works within technical competence
Experience
- Strong technical background in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) maintenance
- Proven ability to operate at a senior level and represent the company professionally on a high-profile site
- Experience managing day-to-day hard FM services and coordinating subcontractors
- Excellent communication skills with confidence dealing with stakeholders at all levels
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders, including clients and FM partners
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

Qualifications
- Level 3 City & Guilds (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent
- IOSH, NEBOSH, or similar Health & Safety qualification is desirable
- Willingness to undergo a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at offer stage
