About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will contribute to an exceptional resident experience by working alongside the Community and Estates Management teams to deliver a high standard of repairs, maintenance tasks, planned and unplanned works, and statutory compliance for building fabric and mechanical and electrical systems. Your responsibilities include inspecting and diagnosing faults, undertaking minor day-to-day repairs and decoration of buildings, grounds, and equipment, and ensuring all communal areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and repair.

You will communicate effectively with residents, clients, contractors, and colleagues, using initiative to respond to maintenance issues. You will manage and maintain the electronic maintenance reporting system, Onesite, ensuring tasks are completed promptly and to a high standard while keeping residents informed of ongoing or delayed maintenance issues.

Additional duties include administering property maintenance records in line with company policies, maintaining stock levels, undertaking repairs across various trades such as plumbing, joinery, carpentry, painting, and lighting, and coordinating external contractors. You will also be responsible for health and safety compliance, reporting incidents, moving heavy items, supervising grounds maintenance, and carrying out statutory testing including PAT testing, emergency lighting inspections, fire alarm tests, and fire evacuations.

This role requires availability for out-of-hours call outs to respond to emergencies and a proactive approach to reviewing site risk assessments and maximising utility efficiency.

Experience
- Experience undertaking repairs and maintenance in a domestic residential environment or as a general builder/residential construction in trades such as plumbing, electrical, or carpentry.
- Experience installing and maintaining hot and cold water systems, sanitary appliances, soil and waste drainage.
- Experience installing and maintaining electrical systems, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and security systems.

Qualifications
- A recognised trade qualification such as Building Crafts Operative Certificate, City and Guilds, or NVQ relevant to repairs and maintenance in residential buildings (e.g., plumbing or electrical) is essential.
- Fluent English verbal and written communication skills.
