About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician at Greystar, you will contribute to an exceptional resident experience by delivering a high standard of repairs, maintenance tasks, planned and unplanned works, and ensuring statutory compliance of building fabric and mechanical and electrical systems. You will inspect and diagnose faults, undertake minor day-to-day repairs and decoration to buildings, grounds, and equipment, and work closely with the Community and Estates Management teams. Your responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness standards, effective communication with residents and contractors, managing maintenance records and electronic reporting systems, and ensuring health and safety compliance. You will carry out repairs across multiple trades including plumbing, joinery, carpentry, painting, decorating, and lighting or coordinate contractors to complete these tasks. Additional duties include managing stock levels, supervising external contractors, conducting statutory testing such as PAT testing, emergency lighting inspections, fire alarm tests, and fire evacuations, as well as maintaining gardens and grounds. You will also assist with site security, risk assessments, and utility efficiency, ensuring all works are completed within budget and resource parameters.
Experience
- Experience undertaking repairs and maintenance in a domestic residential environment or as a general builder/residential construction in trades such as plumbing, electrical, or carpentry
- Experience installing and maintaining hot and cold water systems, sanitary appliances, soil and waste drainage
- Experience installing and maintaining electrical systems, fire alarm, emergency lighting, and security systems
- Contractor and supplier supervision skills are desirable

- Reasonable level of general education (O’ Level / GCSE or equivalent) with demonstrable written and numerical skills
- Awareness of health and safety requirements on site

Qualifications
- Recognised trade qualification such as Building Crafts Operative Certificate, City and Guilds, or NVQ relevant to repairs and maintenance in residential buildings (e.g. plumbing or electrical) is essential
