About the Role
WPS is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Mobile Fabric Engineer with a plumbing bias to join our Facilities Management team. You will deliver high-quality planned and reactive maintenance services across a varied portfolio of commercial properties throughout Stoke-on-Trent and the wider Midlands region. This role is ideal for a multi-skilled engineer with strong fabric maintenance experience and plumbing knowledge who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and building positive client relationships. You will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs, including carpentry, joinery, decorating, ceiling, flooring, partition repairs, door and lock maintenance, general building upkeep, and plumbing works such as repairing leaks, maintaining taps and toilets, minor installations, and fault diagnosis. You will conduct site inspections, ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, accurately record completed works using mobile technology and CAFM systems, and provide excellent customer service. Experience
- Proven experience in Fabric Engineering, Multi-Trade Engineering, Building Maintenance, or Plumbing Maintenance roles
- Strong practical skills in general building fabric maintenance
- Good plumbing maintenance and fault-finding experience
- Experience within Facilities Management, commercial property, or maintenance environments
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads across multiple sites
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements
- Full UK driving licence

Self-motivated, reliable, and customer-focused with the ability to work independently and maintain positive client relationships. You are adaptable and able to manage multiple site visits efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualifications in Plumbing, Building Maintenance, Carpentry, or related disciplines are desirable
- Experience working in a mobile engineering environment is advantageous
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical building services is beneficial
- Experience using CAFM systems and mobile-based maintenance technology is preferred
- You will be required to undergo a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) at offer stage. Applicants with criminal convictions will be assessed individually without discrimination.
