Post: Occupational Therapist Salary: Between £35,226 - £37,992 per year (DOE) Base: Cygnet Hospital Churchill Responsible for: A defined caseload of service users on our acute or rehabilitation service line Supervising an Occupational Therapy Assistant Responsible to: Regional Lead OT Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm Location: 22 Barkham Terrace, Lambeth Road, London. SE1 7PW. Overview of site/Ward: Cygnet Churchill is a 57 bed inpatient service for men in London. Cygnet Churchill has four wards including an emergency acute admissions service (Juniper Ward), two high dependency inpatient rehabilitation services (Maple Court and Mulberry Court) and a 4 bed step down rehabilitation service (Elm Court). The occupational therapy department at Cygnet Churchill is very well resourced and the building has been designed with rehabilitation in mind; facilities include a therapy piazza with activity rooms, music room, art room, a barber shop, library, gym, internet café, therapy kitchens, a dining room and a therapy garden. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, interventions and support for individuals within the service. In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to individual’s diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly within the multidisciplinary team. Currently operating as a Band 5 (newly qualified OTs will also be considered and would be supported through their preceptorship) A good understanding of the Occupational Therapy process and interventions in a mental health care inpatient setting with a strong ability to link theory to practice The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team In return we will offer you:
