About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS trusts, providing specialist and community services across south London and beyond. We are excited to offer Band 3 Patient Access Coordinator opportunities within Guy’s Cancer Centre. This role is ideal for a motivated and organised individual seeking to develop administrative experience within a busy oncology setting.
You will be a key point of contact for patients and carers, supporting the smooth delivery of cancer services by managing reception areas, booking outpatient appointments, and handling calls in a busy call-centre environment. Working closely with clinicians and multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure patients experience a safe, efficient, and supportive pathway of care.
Once fully trained, there is an opportunity to work from home one day per week, subject to service needs and manager approval. Due to high response rates, early application is advised.
Main Duties
Respond to patient queries professionally, book and manage outpatient appointments across cancer pathways, support waiting list management, liaise with clinicians to ensure timely bookings, and escalate pathway issues as needed. You will work flexibly across acute hospital sites and specialties, maintain accurate confidential data on Trust IT systems, and ensure adherence to Trust policies and patient access targets.
The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and a good understanding of the 18-week RTT pathway within cancer services.
