The Cardiac Surgery department is recognised as a world leader in innovative heart treatments and offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cardiac Surgery department as a Patient Access Coordinator. You will be a key member of the Patient Access Team responsible for booking outpatient clinics in line with the Trust’s 18-week pathway policy, managing email and telephone queries from patients and colleagues, and working closely with a large clinical team to ensure the best possible patient experience. This role requires enthusiasm, patient focus, and good knowledge of Trust IT systems. You will contribute significantly to the smooth running of outpatient pathways, processing referrals, booking appointments, and supporting a diverse patient population.

Experience
- Proven experience in an administrative role
- Experience working in a customer-focused environment
- Experience working effectively within a team
- Desirable: Experience in an NHS administrative role
- Desirable: Knowledge of medical terminology

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with Trust hospital systems such as PIMS is desirable
Qualifications
- Essential: GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English
- Desirable: IT qualification or training such as European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
