About the Role

The PP Reservations Co-Ordinator will provide high quality administrative support to the Reservations Department, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the Trust’s Private Patients Units, including Howard Ward and Westminster Bridge Consulting Rooms. The role involves supporting Trust Consultants, secretaries, private patients, the Private Patients Management team, and external organisations such as Private Medical Insurers and London Embassies and Health Offices. This position requires handling highly complex and sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
The post holder will also provide support to ongoing and fixed term projects within the department, ensure smooth office operations, and maintain effective internal and external liaison. The role requires interaction with multidisciplinary teams in busy office and clinic environments, often making appropriate judgements under minimal supervision. Additionally, the post holder will provide short and long-term cover for other members of the reservations and outpatient teams during absences.
This role supports the Trust’s clinical services by actively promoting its specialties and Consultants to increase the contribution of Private Patient Services to NHS services.
Experience
- Knowledge of private healthcare pathways, including self-pay and insured patient processes.
- Previous experience within a complex healthcare environment such as the NHS.
- Experience working in a customer service setting is desirable.
- Previous experience using EPIC, PiMS, Compucare, or other Patient Administration Systems is desirable.

- Confidence in handling difficult conversations with patients or external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent.
- Evidence of equivalent experience, such as administrative roles with substantial previous experience.
- Some evidence of professional development is desirable.
