Hours
38 hours per week on a 12-hour rotating shift pattern. This role requires the ability to work unsupervised for long periods and cover shifts as per Thames Water shift agreement.
Salary
Up to £44,300 per annum, depending on skills and experience
About the Role
As a Process Controller at Coppermills Water Treatment Works, you will report to the Shift Team Manager and be responsible for the day-to-day operations ensuring wholesome water is available 24 hours a day for customers. You will work as part of a team to maintain effective and continuous site operations, strictly adhering to all process values and regulations.
- Monitor and control water treatment processes via SCADA, including abstraction, filtration, ozonation, and disinfection
- Perform front-line maintenance and process fault-finding in line with the Site Operating Manual and Site Specific Procedures
- Monitor, collate, and report data from SCADA to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory quality standards including DWI and OFWAT
- Conduct manual fault finding and interventions to maintain treatment processes and customer supply
- Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies such as process or power failures, following established procedures to stabilize or isolate issues
- Comply with operational standards and complete all necessary documentation including shift logs
- Take responsibility for personal and site Health and Safety, highlight safety observations, and contribute to risk assessments and procedures under COMAH regulations
- Liaise with Water Quality, Maintenance, and Strategic Control departments to resolve issues and ensure process values are met
- Maintain technical knowledge and training, staying up to date with procedural and asset standard changes
- Support ad hoc overtime and mandatory training as required

Experience
- Practical experience in process control and water treatment is essential
- Hands-on approach with strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work unsupervised for extended periods, including lone working
- Experience with SCADA systems is desirable; training will be provided
