Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7:30am – 3:36pm. Plus standby and overtime opportunities upon completion of essential company training.

Salary
Up to £38,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

About the Role
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Technician to join the Sewage Treatment Works team at Hogsmill STW. This primarily field-based role involves routine technician activities while taking a lead role using your knowledge and experience. You will provide support to the Performance Manager and be responsible for day-to-day team guidance, coaching, process monitoring, and maintenance.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable team, site, and contractor management experience, contributing to the effective and efficient treatment of sewage and sludge, protecting our rivers and local environment.

Key responsibilities include:
- Coaching and mentoring team members including apprentices, upskillers, and new starters (e.g. LTO, monitor verification, event learning)
- Providing technical input to support delivery of the production plan and promote first-time fixes (including attending planning meetings, asset availability improvements, investigating site trips)
- Assisting the Performance Manager with day-to-day management and coordination activities (e.g. process risk assessments, obtaining quotes, site inductions, reviewing RAMS)
- Role modelling positive behavioural safety and site pride, supporting a positive health and safety culture
- Stepping up to cover activities when the Performance Manager or technical coordinator is unavailable
- Participating in out-of-hours standby rota

All PPE, tools, and use of a van on site will be provided.

Requirements

Experience
- Hands-on operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment processes and plant.
- Proven ability to take ownership of faults, investigate thoroughly, and implement effective solutions.
- Experience in coaching or mentoring team members is desirable.

- Valid UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Operating Process Plant or working towards it.
- Management qualification or working towards it.
