About the Role
As a Process Controller at Coppermills Water Treatment Works, you will report to the Shift Team Manager and be responsible for the day-to-day operations ensuring wholesome water is available 24 hours a day for our customers. You will work as part of a team to maintain effective and continuous site operation, strictly adhering to all process values and regulations.
Your duties will include monitoring and controlling water treatment processes such as abstraction, filtration, ozonation, and disinfection via SCADA systems. You will be responsible for front-line maintenance and process fault-finding in line with the Site Operating Manual and site-specific procedures, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory quality standards including DWI and OFWAT.
You will respond calmly and effectively to emergencies such as process or power failures, following established procedures to escalate, stabilize, or isolate issues. Completing shift logs and other documentation accurately is essential.
Health and Safety is a key responsibility; you will take ownership of your own safety and that of others on site, highlight safety observations, and contribute to risk assessments and safety improvements. The site operates under COMAH regulations, making safety compliance critical.
Collaboration with other departments including Water Quality, Maintenance, and Strategic Control is vital to resolve issues and ensure process values are met. You will maintain your technical knowledge through ongoing training and support ad hoc overtime and mandatory training as required.

Experience
Previous process and water treatment experience is preferred. Hands-on, practical approach with strong troubleshooting skills is essential. Experience with SCADA systems is desirable but training will be provided.

Qualifications
