About the Role
Join L&Q’s Transformation & Change Delivery Team as a Programme Management Officer, where you will move beyond administrative assistance to provide independent oversight and quality assurance across the Transformation & Change portfolio. You will be the primary quality checkpoint for project status updates, stage-gate documentation, change controls, and RAID logs, with the confidence and authority to challenge and return substandard documentation up to senior leadership.
This role requires a PMO professional with strong process discipline, secretariat expertise, and standardisation capabilities. You will lead template standardisation, document control, and administration of PMO infrastructure such as SharePoint and MS Teams, creating self-service repositories that reduce administrative burdens across the delivery community.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a large, purpose-led housing organisation, acting as an internal consultant to support project teams, maintain a reliable 'single source of truth', and ensure strategic outcomes are delivered for residents and colleagues.
You will report to the Senior Programme Manager – PMO and work alongside Portfolio Managers, Project Managers, and cross-functional teams to drive data integrity and delivery performance across L&Q.
Benefits include an excellent pension plan (up to 6% double contribution), 28 days annual leave rising to 31 days with length of service plus bank holidays, Westfield Health Cash Plan, non-contributory life assurance, up to 21 hours volunteering paid days, lifestyle benefits, Employee Assistance Programme and more.
Early applications are encouraged as the advertisement may close early. L&Q reserves the right to not progress applications from candidates with one unsuccessful application/interview for the same or similar role within the last 12 months.
In-person interviews will be held for at least one stage of the interview process.
Experience
Proven experience within a structured PMO environment with a strong understanding of project lifecycles, stage-gate governance, and RAID management. Experience in corporate secretariat duties including agenda setting, minute-taking, action tracking, and meeting facilitation.
Desirable certifications include P3O, PRINCE2, Agile PM, or MoP.
High proficiency in Microsoft 365, especially advanced SharePoint administration, MS Teams, and Excel. Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, or dedicated PMO automation tools is highly advantageous.
About you
Strong process discipline with the ability to streamline manual processes and standardise templates. Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or change methodologies is beneficial.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build persuasive narratives, present insights clearly to senior stakeholders, and challenge constructively when required.
Ability to partner cross-functionally with internal enabling functions and external delivery partners to align project administration and streamline PMO outputs.
Awareness of Benefits Realisation frameworks to support project leads in tracking outcomes.
Qualifications
Relevant PMO certifications are desirable but not essential. A commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive approach to learning are important.
