About the Role
Join our Customer Services Team at L&Q, one of the UK’s leading housing associations and developers. As Managing Agent Contract Manager, you will be at the heart of ensuring that external managing agents and superior landlords are held to account. You will ensure every pound of service charge delivers value for money, every contract stands up to scrutiny, and every resident receives the standard of service they deserve.
This role offers real influence, high visibility, and tangible impact. You will be the trusted expert protecting the interests of L&Q, our residents, and upholding regulatory compliance.
Your impact in the role will include:
- Ensuring fairness and compliance by validating and challenging service charges, making sure costs meet lease and legislative requirements.
- Driving accountability by holding managing agents and landlords to account for the quality and value of services delivered.
- Championing residents by resolving disputes, challenging poor performance, and ensuring transparency.
This position offers agile/hybrid working with office-based attendance 20-40% of the time (3-4 days working from home). Experience
Proven expertise in leasehold block management, ideally across large, multi-tenure or complex estates.
Strong legal and regulatory knowledge, including the Landlord & Tenant Act 1985, Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act 2002, and Leasehold & Freehold Reform Act 2024.
Confidence in challenging service charges, enforcing compliance, and supporting tribunal cases.
Professional credibility ideally with TPI or RICS (or equivalent experience).
Excellent stakeholder and negotiation skills, able to hold external partners accountable at senior levels.
The ability to thrive in a strategic role where law, compliance, and resident outcomes collide.

Qualifications
