About the Role
Join the East London Housing Management Team at L&Q as a Neighbourhood Housing Lead (Floater). This permanent role offers a hybrid working pattern with 20% to 40% of contractual hours worked from the Stratford office. You will act as the primary relationship holder for residents across multiple local patches, delivering a reliable, consistent, and customer-focused housing management service. Managing a patch of approximately 500 to 600 homes, you will help residents navigate L&Q services, resolve tenancy, leasehold, ASB, and estate issues, and represent resident interests across the organisation.
Your responsibilities will include delivering high-quality housing management services in line with policies and regulatory expectations, investigating and resolving local issues such as waste management and communal area concerns, completing tenancy audits and inspections, managing risks including fire safety compliance, supporting complaint resolutions and multi-agency cases, and representing L&Q at resident forums and meetings. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, local authorities, contractors, and community stakeholders.
Benefits include an excellent pension plan (up to 6% double contribution), 28 days annual leave rising to 31 with length of service plus bank holidays, Westfield Health Cash Plan, non-contributory life assurance, up to 21 hours paid volunteering days, lifestyle benefits, Employee Assistance Programme, and more. Early applications are encouraged as the recruitment process may close earlier than advertised.
Experience
Proven housing sector experience, ideally including tenancy management, leasehold management, ASB, tenancy fraud, safeguarding, vulnerable residents, domestic abuse or hate crime casework. Strong understanding of property and estate management, including communal inspections, service charges, facilities management, and contractor performance. Operational knowledge of social housing regulation, relevant housing and immigration law, welfare reform, tenancy compliance, and risk management.
About you
Excellent relationship-building skills with residents and colleagues, strong communication abilities, and a can-do attitude. You are motivated by delivering excellent outcomes for residents and have grit and determination to manage a complex caseload balancing resident contact, inspections, complaints, compliance actions, and stakeholder meetings. You are proactive, persistent, solutions-focused, and confident to challenge where necessary to secure the best outcomes. You hold a valid driving license and have access to a car for work use.
Qualifications
A housing qualification or IRPM qualification is desirable. If not already held, you should be willing to complete the IRPM qualification and any other learning deemed appropriate. The successful candidate will need to apply for or hold a Basic or Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate to work within the team.
