We are recruiting an interim R&D Contracts Manager to join the non-commercial research contracts team at Guy’s Hospital. This role offers an exciting opportunity for candidates with research contracts experience who wish to progress into a management position within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The post-holder will manage non-commercial research contracts for specific clinical directorates, acting as the key contact for investigators and overseeing a portfolio of studies. Responsibilities include negotiation, management, and execution of agreements sponsored and hosted by the Trust, covering drug trials, device studies, and interventional or observational research. Contract types include funding agreements, service level agreements, collaborative and consortium agreements (national and international), material transfer agreements, and other technical contracts.

Experience
- Significant experience in contract negotiation within NHS, academic, or pharmaceutical settings
- Understanding of clinical research processes and requirements

- Experienced contracts officer with willingness to take on line-management responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate and influence colleagues at all levels
- Strong attention to detail with proofreading and document control expertise
- Highly organised and methodical with a pragmatic, solution-focused approach to contract negotiations
- Ability to support and develop junior team members
- Able to analyse and interpret complex research project information and make informed judgements
- Skilled in persuading and negotiating without damaging working relationships

Qualifications
- Relevant degree, professional qualification, or equivalent experience
- Line-management experience is desirable but not essential
