About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. We are delivering the fit-out, refurbishment and alteration of a unique collection of listed buildings in central London. These buildings are situated in a live environment on an estate of national importance with a rich heritage, requiring careful coordination of logistics and operations with technical and construction partners. Our client requires strong commercial management to support the Authority in delivering modern workplace solutions, unique projects and complex programmes of work.
As a Senior Cost Consultant, you will take responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, often managing large and complex commissions across both private and public sector clients. You will ensure client objectives are met through the delivery of a value-added cost management service.
Your responsibilities will include conducting feasibility studies, preparing business cases, and writing procurement reports; applying value management techniques at project outset; managing estimating and cost planning activities including ownership and presentation of final cost plans; overseeing the procurement process from prequalification through contract preparation; managing post-contract cost variances and change control processes; supervising cost checking and valuation work; producing monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to clients; attending and actively participating in meetings; undertaking value engineering and life cycle costing; negotiating and agreeing final accounts; acting as a key interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages; supporting marketing and business development activities within your sector; and line management and recruitment duties.
Experience
Demonstrable experience delivering service excellence to clients. Proven NEC contract experience. Strong knowledge of contracts, estimating, valuations, cost reporting and financial modelling.

Qualifications
A degree qualification is preferred but not essential. Professional memberships are advantageous but not required.
