About the Role
As a Senior Planner within the Arcadis Mobility Programme Management & Commercial Management unit, you will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of a major programme across London and the south of England. This pivotal role combines strategic planning and performance reporting to ensure successful project delivery. You will play a key role in delivering mobility infrastructure projects across rail, highways, and aviation sectors, driving continuous improvement and ensuring robust project controls throughout the project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining project baseline plans, work breakdown structures, and schedules aligned with delivery objectives. You will monitor progress, identify variances, and implement recovery and contingency plans. Reporting on earned value, progress, and performance will inform financial forecasting and decision-making. You will analyse project and programme data to identify trends, risks, and anomalies, ensure compliance with planning standards and lifecycle frameworks, audit contractor plans, and monitor adherence to Network Rail procedures. Collaboration with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and stakeholders is essential to deliver value and build strong relationships. You will also drive continuous improvement in planning processes and adopt emerging digital tools to enhance project delivery.

Experience
Minimum 7 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, ideally within major rail or infrastructure programmes. Proven ability to manage complex projects with robust project controls throughout the lifecycle.

Strong organisational, commercial, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and stakeholders. Proactive in driving continuous improvement and adopting new digital tools. Familiarity with different contracting environments and commercial models. Commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes and building strong professional relationships.
Qualifications
Degree, HNC, or HND in Engineering, Project Management, or a related subject. Proficient in planning software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project. Experience with project controls, cost engineering, and financial operations. Desirable qualifications include membership of a relevant professional body, Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification, and a broad understanding of rail, highways, or aviation engineering, construction, and investment planning systems.
