We enable millions of businesses to safely access Stripe’s financial infrastructure while protecting users, financial partners, and the broader ecosystem from harm. Our work spans fraud prevention, financial crime management, credit risk, regulatory compliance, and enabling safe product launches.

As a Senior Staff Product Manager for Risk, you will lead major cross-Risk and cross-Stripe initiatives that transform how risk is managed at Stripe. You will identify high-impact opportunities, define solutions to ambiguous problems, and drive execution from early technical shaping through delivery and adoption. You will collaborate closely with senior technical leaders and product teams to shape infrastructure and product direction, ensuring coherent and reusable solutions.

You will also partner with Risk leadership to define multi-year strategy and prioritize investments, coach other product managers, and elevate product management practices across Stripe. This role requires deep engagement in both strategic and tactical work, helping teams navigate complex technical and product decisions to deliver impactful results.

Experience
- Proven track record of delivering high-impact, transformational product or technical initiatives spanning multiple teams and organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to clarify deeply ambiguous problems, set compelling direction, and drive execution and adoption.
- Strong technical judgment across data, machine learning, AI, APIs, platforms, and system architecture.
- Experience partnering with senior engineering, data science, and product leaders to shape technical direction and product strategy.
- Deep quantitative fluency with the ability to use data and causal reasoning to understand problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and measure outcomes.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders, build alignment across organizational boundaries, and drive progress without direct management authority.
- Experience mentoring and developing product managers and raising product thinking and execution quality across teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate strategies and simplify complex topics.

Qualifications
- An engineering background, preferably with experience in machine learning.
- Experience applying AI and machine learning to complex, high-stakes problems at scale.
- Background in fraud, credit, payments, financial services, trust and safety, or related domains involving complex decisions and asymmetric consequences.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams.
