About the Role
Metronome is the leading usage-based billing platform built for modern software companies and is now a Stripe product. Our platform enables companies to launch products faster, offer any pricing model, and streamline finance workflows without writing code. We process hundreds of millions of invoices per billing period and continue to scale rapidly to support new customers, saving them days of development time and manual invoicing. Our customers include industry leaders such as OpenAI, Hubspot, NVIDIA, Confluent, and Anthropic.

As a member of the Solutions Engineering team at Metronome, you will operate at the intersection of sales, account management, product, R&D, and operations, owning the technical side of the customer lifecycle from discovery calls through demos, proofs of concept, technical scoping, and handover to post-sales teams. You will act as a producer to ensure smooth execution throughout the customer journey.

In your first month, you will learn to clearly articulate the value Metronome provides, assist in planning and running customized demos for diverse buyer personas, and begin building your technical expertise.

Within three months, you will become proficient in discovery processes, travel to meet prospects globally, and contribute to landing deals with exciting software companies ranging from startups to enterprise SaaS.

By six months, you will own knowledge areas, projects, tools, and market segments within the team, run tight proofs of concept with defined success criteria, represent the Solutions Engineering group independently on deal teams, and handle detailed scoping to ensure customer success post-sale.

Within your first year, you will have built strong relationships across prospect organizations, designed integrations of Metronome into customer systems, and acted as a pricing and packaging consultant influencing future customer direction.

Experience
- 1-3 years in technical and/or customer-facing roles involving SaaS products such as engineering, solutions, technical account management, or consulting.
- Experience working with technical, go-to-market, and finance stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Academic background in a technical area combined with high emotional intelligence is highly valued.
- Bonus points for knowledge of quote-to-cash systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, CPQs), experience as a software engineer or product manager, sales experience selling to technical buyers, or familiarity with logs, metrics, billing, finance, or infrastructure tooling and concepts.
