The Money as a Service (MaaS) organization at Stripe focuses on making money programmable through funding, foreign exchange, sending, and spending. Teams within MaaS build APIs and product experiences that enable Stripe users to manage money globally. Recent product launches include multicurrency balances and global payouts.

As a Software Engineer on the Money Movement team, you will work on backend, frontend-leaning fullstack, or fullstack engineering projects that impact thousands of employees and millions of Stripe users. You will scope, design, build, and maintain APIs, user experiences, services, and large-scale systems that reliably handle billions of money movement requests.

Your responsibilities will include debugging and solving critical production issues, mentoring engineers, meeting directly with users to shape product changes, and collaborating with stakeholders across the company to build new features while improving engineering standards, tooling, and processes. You will work effectively in a distributed and hybrid team environment, maintaining open communication and strong connections with colleagues.

Experience
2-12+ years of industry software engineering experience (excluding internships or co-ops). Strong coding skills in any programming language. Experience building user interfaces, designing and building APIs, or working with user research or interaction design is a plus.

Qualifications
Minimum requirements include strong coding skills and collaboration abilities. Preferred qualifications include experience with user interfaces, user research, interaction design, and API design. Our interview process is language agnostic, recognizing that new languages can be learned on the job.
