About the Role
Stripe is a technology company focused on improving the conditions for economic growth and prosperity by building programmable financial infrastructure. We rethink how financial services should work to make it easier and cheaper for any business to start and scale. More than 10 million businesses, from solo founders to established enterprises, build on Stripe, processing trillions of dollars annually—equivalent to around 1.6% of global GDP. Our growth depends on the success of these businesses, and we invest heavily in technology to deliver reliable APIs, new financial infrastructure, and advances in risk and fraud management to make the internet economy safer and more accessible.

As a Software Engineer Intern at Stripe, you will work on impactful projects across our stack that directly affect millions of businesses worldwide. You will own problems end to end with support from your manager and teammates, collaborating with some of the most creative and technically rigorous engineers in the industry. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn how to ship high-quality work at scale and gain insight into the global economy through Stripe’s codebase.

Recent intern projects include expanding Payments Foundation Model capabilities for anomaly detection, building fraud controls, creating safer payouts, and developing user-facing solutions to improve merchant checkout setup and prevent pricing mistakes. Our internship program is competitive and demanding, designed to challenge and develop your skills in a supportive environment.
