About the Role
As a Social Worker at Barnet Council, you will provide a high standard of social work to adults and/or carers in line with the Council’s duties under the Care Act 2014 and Barnet policies, procedures, and the Code of Practice for social care workers. Your responsibilities will include conducting professional assessments focused on meeting social care outcomes, safeguarding adults and carers at risk of harm by promoting Making Safeguarding Personal principles, and undertaking individualised, outcomes-led care and support planning. You will support people to maintain their health, well-being, and independence by providing access to quality information, advice, and signposting to local preventative services, with an emphasis on building resilience and strengths to achieve meaningful outcomes. Experience
Professional experience in social work with adults and carers, including the ability to assess and record eligible and non-eligible needs using evidence-based practice. Experience in conducting robust assessments, risk assessments, support plans, reviews, and facilitating self-assessments where appropriate.

Registered Social Worker with Social Work England and professional qualifications in Social Work. Clear understanding of social and health care within the community. Commitment to supporting choice and independence for service users and carers. Ability to apply relevant social care legislation, guidance, and practice. Strong interpersonal skills and dedication to safeguarding vulnerable adults and promoting their well-being.

Qualifications
Professional qualification in Social Work and registration with Social Work England are essential.
