About the Role

As a Sous Chef, you will collaborate with our culinary team to craft flavourful dishes that nourish both body and mind. You will assist the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation, production, and service, ensuring the quality and presentation of all dishes meet company standards and client expectations.

You will supervise and train kitchen staff and assistants, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation procedures. You will assist in menu planning and development, considering dietary restrictions, nutritional guidelines, and seasonal ingredients. Additionally, you will oversee stock control and ordering to maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing waste.

Working closely with the catering team, you will help execute special events, themed dinners, and other culinary initiatives. Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment while following health and safety regulations is essential. You will also support the Head Chef with administrative tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and maintaining records of food costs and inventory.

Requirements

Experience
Previous experience in a similar role within a contract catering company or educational institution is preferred.

You are passionate about food and service, enthusiastic, fun, and a team player. You have excellent organisational skills, enjoy succeeding as part of a team, and have a flexible approach to work including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Qualifications
Culinary degree or relevant certifications from a recognized culinary institute.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
