About the Role
This is an opportunity to be part of a thriving and dynamic service within the Children in Need Teams, working collaboratively across the integrated service including MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub). You will engage with social networks, families, communities, and individuals to develop supportive relationships. Taking both strategic and operational lead, you will work closely with other social work teams and partners such as Police, Health, and Education.
You will undertake a broad range of work with children in need, children on a child protection plan, and their families, including court work. Your role will involve providing additional support and ensuring that assessments, plans, and creative interventions effectively promote positive outcomes for Children in Need and those on Child Protection Plans.
This is a career-enhancing opportunity to manage and coordinate the work of one of the Children in Need teams, making appropriate use of resources to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service to children, young people, and their families.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and requires an Enhanced DBS check. Camden also offers the DBS update service.
Experience
Proven supervisory experience with the ability to motivate staff, identify training needs, and ensure the service meets business demands. Experience in managing social work teams and working collaboratively with multi-agency partners is essential.
About you
You are a versatile, agile, and experienced social work practitioner with strong leadership skills. You have sound knowledge of The Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation. You are able to lead, motivate staff, drive performance, and effectively use statutory, community, voluntary, and independent resources to enhance best practice and improve outcomes for children. You demonstrate strong analytical, budget management, and IT skills for recording and maintaining data.
Qualifications
You must hold a recognised qualification in social work and be registered with Social Work England. A Practice Education Qualification or relevant management experience is required.
