About the Role
An exciting opportunity to join the Financial Accounts team at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. You will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, where professionalism and accuracy are paramount. This role offers the chance to develop your skills and grow alongside experienced colleagues across the team. Key responsibilities include maintaining control accounts, supporting internal recharges and accruals, assisting with monthly and annual financial reporting, liaising with departments to resolve finance queries, and supporting year-end tasks. The role requires good communication skills, the ability to work independently to strict deadlines, and a working knowledge of finance systems and Microsoft Excel. Requirements

Experience
- Substantial experience in a technical accounting role is essential.
- Experience with Oracle ERP Cloud system is desirable.
- Expertise in control account reconciliations, journal entries, VAT accounting, and month-end/year-end processes.
- Good working knowledge of finance ledger systems, coding structures, and financial control processes.
- Sound practical accounting knowledge gained in a large organisation or through a relevant degree.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and SUMIFS.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.

- Able to liaise effectively with colleagues across departments, demonstrating negotiation and influencing skills.

Qualifications
- Essential: AAT Level 3 or equivalent (e.g. 2 A-Levels, BTEC National Diploma, NVQ Level 3, Advanced Apprenticeship).
- Currently studying or intending to study for a recognised professional accounting qualification such as CIMA or ACCA.
- Desirable: Part-qualified CIMA or ACCA, or an Accountancy degree or equivalent technical accounting experience.
- Evidence of experience using Microsoft Outlook and Word.
