The Administrator role offers the opportunity to provide high quality administrative support to a busy department, playing a key role in its efficient day-to-day running. This includes reception duties, customer service, maintaining databases, booking appointments and meeting rooms, filing, and general administrative support. The post holder will often be the first point of contact for the department, requiring professional and courteous communication with staff, patients, relatives, and external agencies. The role also involves supporting meetings, managing diaries, ordering supplies, and assisting with projects and team leadership duties.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience in an administrative role with competent data collection and data quality management
- Experience working with confidential documents and information
- Experience in a customer-focused environment, able to handle difficult customers and challenging situations
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, including written, face-to-face, and telephone communication with diverse groups
- Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of Trust hospital systems such as Epic
- Experience in managing diaries, organising meetings and events
- Understanding of confidentiality and equal opportunities

- Organised with excellent time management skills, able to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
- Professional and courteous with strong interpersonal skills
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and organisational systems
- Ability to provide support and leadership to junior administrative staff
- Committed to delivering excellent customer care and maintaining a tidy, efficient working environment

Qualifications
- Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent
- Relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience
- Desirable: IT qualifications such as European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
- Desirable: Customer service qualification or training
- Desirable: Knowledge of medical terminology and NHS administrative procedures
