At Camden, we put people at the heart of everything we do. Let's work together to make a difference to people’s lives.
Camden is an ambitious borough committed to delivering the best possible outcomes for residents, starting with an inclusive and supportive workplace that enables staff to thrive and succeed.
In this role, you will build relationships to find out what matters to people. You will support individuals to live and age well in Camden, contribute to their communities, retain independence for as long as possible, achieve their goals and live a good life.
We have a range of Social Worker opportunities across different teams within our adult social care service, including:
- Neighbourhoods Teams
- Hospital Teams
- Reviews Team
- Multi Agency Safeguarding Hubs (MASH)
- Weekend Social Workers – Hospital Teams (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
- Mental Health Teams
- Camden Learning Disabilities Service (CLDS)
If you have a preference for a team, please specify this in your application and ensure your supporting statement aligns with the appropriate job profile.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and requires an Enhanced DBS check.
Experience

About you
You are enthusiastic, passionate and committed to working with residents to build resilience and improve wellbeing. You will be dedicated to supporting people, their carers and the wider community across various teams.
You have extensive knowledge and application of the legislative framework relating to Adults, including the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Health Act.
As a practitioner in Neighbourhoods, MASH, Reviews or Hospital Teams, you will manage your own workload and resources, undertake assessments of risk, needs and capacity, and work within an integrated professional network.
Within Mental Health Teams, you will promote a strengths-based approach, contribute to a collaborative team environment, coordinate Mental Health Act assessments, and participate in Camden’s AMHP Duty Rota. Willingness to complete AMHP Training if not already qualified is required.
In the Learning Disabilities Service, you will manage your own workload, undertake assessments for people with learning disabilities, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatry, Psychological Therapies, Speech and Language Therapy, and Children and Young People with Disabilities services.
Across all teams, you will respond appropriately to unexpected events and crises, recognise signs of harm, abuse and neglect, and manage these issues effectively.
