About the Role
As a Support Worker in Camden’s Single Pathways Service, you will empower adults and young people living in our hostel pathway to build safer, healthier and more independent lives. You will provide person-centred, trauma-informed support within a high-need accommodation setting, helping residents develop the practical, social and emotional skills needed to sustain housing, improve wellbeing, reduce risk and move positively through the Pathway into settled accommodation.

This frontline role involves developing trusting relationships, promoting emotional and physical safety, responding proportionately to risk, and advocating for residents to access the right support at the right time.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and requires an Enhanced DBS check.

Camden Council is committed to radical social change, placing residents and communities at the heart of everything we do to ensure nobody gets left behind.

Requirements

Experience
Experience providing accommodation-based or floating support to individuals with complex needs is desirable. Understanding the challenges people face around housing, welfare benefits and accessing the right services is important.

About you
You are passionate about supporting people to improve their housing and wellbeing outcomes. You are confident carrying out strengths-based assessments and building trusting relationships, especially with those experiencing trauma, distress or unmet needs. Your communication style is clear, compassionate and respectful, helping people feel supported while working towards positive outcomes.

You work well with others and have experience collaborating with professionals and partner organisations to coordinate support. You are organised, able to prioritise your workload, and understand the importance of maintaining accurate, high-quality casework records.

You bring a trauma-informed approach, using reflection and professional judgement to respond to risk, safeguarding concerns and complex situations while remaining calm and supportive.

Qualifications
Not explicitly stated; however, the role requires an Enhanced DBS check and a commitment to professional standards and safeguarding.
