About the Role
As a Nursery Teacher with DfE Qualified Teacher Status at Langtry Nursery, you will lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of a high-quality early years curriculum with a full commitment to anti-discriminatory practice. This includes daily, weekly and termly planning tailored to meet children’s needs and interests. You will be a key member of the nursery leadership team, promoting children’s development within a secure, safe and stimulating environment, following good practice curriculum guidance appropriate to the children’s ages and stages of development.
You will have lead responsibility for assessing children’s overall development, including conducting observations, recording achievements, and maintaining developmental records to a high standard. A significant part of your role will involve planning and implementing interventions for children with SEND and additional needs. You will work with due regard to Child Protection and safeguarding procedures, reporting any concerns to the Head.
You will collaborate with a wide range of professionals within the centre, parents/carers, the children’s centre multiagency team, other council services such as the inclusive intervention team, and community resources including local schools and groups. The contract is offered within teachers’ pay and conditions. This post requires an Enhanced DBS check and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
Experience
Proven experience working directly with young children in a group day care setting. Experience as a Qualified Nursery Teacher in a busy nursery environment is essential. Ability to work flexibly to meet frequently changing demands and as a proactive, solution-focused member of a multi-disciplinary team.
About you
You will be an effective communicator and collaborator, committed to fostering an environment that supports children’s development and positive relationships. Knowledge and awareness of child protection and safeguarding policies and practice is essential, along with experience working with families with complex needs. Flexibility to work between 8am and 6pm with an agreed shift pattern, including occasional work outside these hours with notice.
Qualifications
Must hold DfE Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a valid Teacher Reference Number.
