About the Role
As a Health Improvement Officer within Camden’s Health and Wellbeing Department, you will develop, deliver and evaluate evidence-based programmes that promote healthy eating and physical activity for children, young people and families. This includes direct delivery of weaning sessions to parents as well as family healthy behaviour and cooking programmes. Using data, evidence and co-production, you will help ensure services reach marginalised and disadvantaged communities to reduce health inequalities.
You will work closely with residents, schools, early years settings and partners across the Council, NHS and voluntary sector to deliver effective health improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will provide advice and share best practice across the department, supporting continuous improvement and better health outcomes for Camden’s families.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and requires an Enhanced DBS check.
Experience
Experience in a health promotion or improvement role, delivering group sessions to children, young people and families. Proven ability to use evidence-based approaches, project management skills and evaluation methods to improve health behaviours and reduce inequalities. Experience working with schools, early years settings and families, and building effective partnerships and engaging communities through co-production.

Confident in interpreting complex information, contributing to reports and presenting clearly to diverse audiences. Well organised and adaptable with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively. Strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent qualification in nutrition or a related field.
