About the Role
Join the Commercial Team at London and Quadrant Housing Trust (L&Q) as an Assistant Project Quantity Surveyor. In this role, you will work closely with Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors to ensure cost control and value for money across our property services projects. You will be responsible for the financial and contractual administration of workstreams and projects, ensuring all quantity surveying duties are performed to the highest standard and that L&Q receives full contractual and monetary entitlement on the most advantageous terms.

You will take ownership of projects and workstreams to ensure all costs and contracts are in place, managing subcontractors and suppliers to achieve best value while protecting the business contractually and providing accurate financial forecasting. You will be accountable for delivering savings on projects and assist in implementing mitigation strategies related to contracts and subcontracts under the guidance of Senior Quantity Surveyors.

Supporting operational colleagues and other relevant teams, you will ensure all significant project issues, correspondence, and contractual processes are properly managed. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your commercial and quantity surveying skills within a leading housing association committed to quality and sustainability.

Experience
Previous experience measuring subcontractor accounts and implementing cost control techniques. Experience managing contractor performance and principal/subcontractor relationships.

Strong analytical skills with high numeracy and data interrogation capabilities.

Commercial awareness with good legal and contractual knowledge.

Competent in the use of standard methods of measurement, including Schedule of Rates (NHFs).

Qualifications
