About the Role
Salesforce is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers focused on Data 360, Salesforce’s real-time data engine that unifies data from any source. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be a hands-on Technical Builder who configures, builds, tests, and deploys Data 360 directly inside enterprise customer environments. You will turn approved solution designs and acceptance criteria into working implementations across ingestion, harmonization, identity, insights, activation, retrieval, security, and operational readiness. This role involves working within delivery teams including architects, deployment strategists, Agentforce FDEs, account teams, and customer technical teams. Engagements may span focused proofs, production rollouts, and stabilization phases, all involving real customer data, disciplined testing, and supportable handoffs.

This is a hands-on data and software engineering role requiring building in real enterprise customer environments using SQL, Python, Apex, and other tools. You will build ingestion pipelines, debug identity resolution, and ship working implementations from sandbox through production. This role is not purely declarative or advisory but requires deep technical involvement.

Key responsibilities include building and configuring in customer environments, engineering the data layer for ingestion and harmonization, validating implementations with comprehensive testing, designing AI data integration layers for Agentforce, orchestrating agent communication protocols, implementing secure and scalable data integration patterns, applying data governance, building resilient workflows with secure authentication, troubleshooting complex technical issues, owning implementation decisions, accelerating builds with AI tooling, collaborating closely with customer teams, supporting deployment and stabilization, and feeding product roadmaps with reproducible insights.

Experience
- 5+ years in software engineering, data engineering, or technical implementation including production data solutions.
- Hands-on experience implementing Salesforce Data 360 (Data Cloud) or comparable enterprise data platforms.
- Proven ability building data pipelines and integrations using technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, Kafka, cloud object storage, or enterprise MDM platforms.
- Proficiency in SQL with ability to build, debug, and optimize complex queries.
- Fluency in at least one implementation language such as Apex, Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with data modeling, APIs, integration patterns, batch and streaming processing.
- Experience building retrieval systems for AI applications including vector databases, search indexes, embedding pipelines, or knowledge bases.
- Implemented secure service-to-service integration patterns (OAuth, SAML, event-driven architectures) and familiarity with emerging agent protocols like MCP.
- Skilled in implementing and rigorously testing secure data access including permissions, entitlements, and user context.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with methodical diagnosis using logs and query evidence.
- Experience delivering alongside customers, partners, or internal teams in deadline-driven environments.
