About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS trusts, providing a wide range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care nationally. The Dental Radiology Department, located on the 23rd Floor of Guy’s Tower within Guy’s Dental Hospital, is rapidly expanding and supports intraoral and extraoral imaging for the Dental Directorate, including Acute Dental Care and Paediatric Dentistry, a Salivary Gland service offering minimally invasive interventions, undergraduate dental student supervision, and a Cone Beam Computed Tomography Service.
This role requires a collaborative and flexible approach to work as part of a multidisciplinary team including Radiographers, Dental Nurses, Imaging Support Staff, and Radiologists. The successful candidate will work cross-site between Guy's Hospital and St Thomas' Hospital, supporting clinics and departmental functions.
Key responsibilities include reception duties, clinical support to radiographers and consultant radiologists, chaperoning vulnerable patients during procedures, processing and maintaining dental radiographic images and equipment, scanning and uploading images in line with information governance guidelines, cleaning and preparing the department, managing administrative tasks such as ordering consumables and stocktaking, supporting consultants in the absence of nurses, managing queries and calls, and organising patient transport within the hospital.

Experience
- Proven experience in an administrative role, ideally within a patient/customer focused environment.
- Experience dealing with challenging situations and difficult patients/customers.
- Reception experience is desirable.
- Experience working in a hospital environment, particularly within radiology, is advantageous.

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workload efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and organisational systems.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and build good working relationships at all levels.
- Familiarity with NHS clinical and information systems such as EPIC and knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
Qualifications
- Good general level of education with minimum GCSE or equivalent A-C grades in Maths and English.
- Educated to Diploma level or NVQ 3, City and Guilds certificate level in Business Administration or equivalent.
- Evidence of formal further training in short courses and significant experience of hospital administration and reception.
- IT qualification or training such as the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is desirable.
